Foundation
FLIPPER HOUSE is a London-based automotive studio specialising in the development of premium motorcycle components and accessories. The name is derived from the anatomy of the whale’s fin, reflecting an objective to create components that exist as a native extension of the vehicle.
The studio is informed by a professional background in Material Science and Engineering from Imperial College London and Interior Design from the Royal College of Art. This foundation serves as the basis for applying high-level engineering principles and a refined design language to high-performance machinery.
Classification
The studio’s output is organised into two distinct lines:
'FORM'
The FORM collection embodies a philosophy where aesthetic beauty and high-performance engineering fulfil one another. Every line, surface, and curve is designed to engage with light, space, and movement. It is a series where artistry and engineering meet with intent, exploring the boundaries of conventional design through topology optimisation and biomorphic principles. In this collection, visual elegance and technical efficiency are byproducts of one another; the result is a synergy where the whole surpasses the sum of its parts.
'FUNCTION'
The FUNCTION collection is defined by purpose and precision. Every line, surface, and curve is engineered for utility, addressing technical details that often go unnoticed or unattempted by the broader industry. In this series, function guides form. Each component is intentional, uncompromising, and refined to exacting standards to ensure performance in demanding environments.
Scope of Production
The work spans mechanical, electronic, protection, and aerodynamic disciplines. The portfolio comprises bespoke illuminated handlebar switches, precision-engineered assemblies such as the electric plate flipper, and technical fairing kits. Whether developing structural hardware or electronic components, the focus remains on the integrity of the individual object.
Bespoke Service
The studio maintains a schedule of continuous development, with new components regularly entering production.
In addition to the core collections, the studio accepts commissions for bespoke hardware and electronic solutions. This service is available for those requiring specific engineering or aesthetic interventions that fall outside of standard production, ensuring that bespoke projects remain a cohesive extension of FLIPPER HOUSE's core philosophy.
